About Us

We invite you to learn more about Bedford Youth Football and the Bedford Lions Football & Cheerleading Program.. There are three teams here in Bedford, the Lions, the TBirds & the Hornets. The TBirds were the first team in Bedford and have been here for 16 years, the Lions for 15 and the Hornets since 2008. All teams in the WJFL are determined by living boundaries for Football Players Only. The Lion’s area is the southwest portion of Bedford from the West Side of Douglas to the Northside of Consear. The TBirds are on the East Side of Douglas and South of Dean. The Hornets cover the North portion of Bedford. There are variations to the boundaries so please check with your area head coach. Any intentional falsified information will result in permanent suspension from the league for football players only. Cheerleaders can cheer for the team of their choice. All three Bedford teams are part of the Washington Junior Football League (WJFL). The WJFL has provided youth football for over 50 years in Northwest Ohio and is the second oldest youth football league in the country. We are governed by high school rules as well as league rules. Practices are 3 -5 days a week depending on age with games on Sundays.

All football equipment is provided to each participant with the exception of shoes. The uniforms and other equipment issued to each Football Player & Cheerleader must be returned in as good a condition as when received except for normal wear and tear. Failure to do so will result in said participant in becoming ineligible for future participation; also the participant / parents will be responsible for reimbursing the WJFL/Lions for the cost of the uniform and any replacement equipment. Failure to do so will result in the WJFL/Lions taking legal action. If found guilty, all legal fees and court costs will be the responsibility of the participant/parents.

Our season begins mid-August and ends typically the first week of November.
